“Celebrando el dia de la Independencia ” “Celebrating Independence Day”

Dear Ositos Parents:

I hope everyone had a great week. The students had a great time when simulating camping. Our theme for this week is “Celebrando el dia de la Independencia”- Celebrating Independence Day.” This week will be fun, exciting, educational, and cultural – all at the same time!

SPECIAL ACTIVITY:

This week we will have different activities,

Monday - We will prepare headbands or festive hats and banners, to represent and to bring attention to the patriotic symbols of the United States.

Tuesday - We will have our first Crazy Hair Day. Please bring hair coloring for your Osito. If you have wigs please send them with your Osito.

Wednesday - We will have a picnic and make a shared snack in the park. Please bring something to share with others, such as: juice, cookies, fruits, Gatorade, etc.

Thursday - We will plan a parade on the occasion of Independence Day and listen to the anthem of United States. In substitution of fireworks we will use recycled material to simulate a fireworks display. Children should wear clothing that alludes to Independence Day

Friday - The school will be closed.

• All special activities for the Ositos will be posted on the bulletin board outside of the classroom. Please be sure to check weekly.
• SPLASH DAYS are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please bring a bag for wet clothes on these days.

“Nos vamos de Campamento” “We go Camping”

Dear Ositos Parents,

^{I hope everyone had a great week. The campers had a good time and enjoyed the planned activities. Our theme for this week is “Nos vamos de campamento”- “We are going camping”. We are planning to designate one classroom for our camp site. We are asking from parents, if able, to donate your tent for this week so that we can simulate our camping experience. Please, bring this as soon as possible.}

^{This week we will have different activities,}

^{Monday - We will go hiking as explorers and look for natural items, such as: insects, rocks, and flowers.  We will also take photos. Students may want to bring binoculars and cameras.}

^{Tuesday: We'll make a fire of sticks and slips.}

^{Wednesday - We will have a picnic and enjoy a snack in the park. Please have your children bring something to share with others. Thank you.}

^{Friday - CAMPING DAY. We will have a PAJAMA DAY, Please, have your children bring their favorite pajama, pillow, and stuffed animal for naptime. We will have fun activities like pillow fight and games.}

^{Please help us by bringing in any recyclable paper. Thank you!}

^{We will make art and Chef Pepin will visit us and teach us to make delicious lemonade.}

“Llego el Verano” “The Summer is Here”

Dear Ositos Parents,

^{I hope everyone had a great week. We begin this week our first Summer camp. We are planning to have a full schedule of fun. So, expect a great time. Our theme for this week is “El verano esta aqui”- “Summer is here”.}

^{SPECIAL ACTIVITY:}

^{This week we will have different activities,}

^{Monday: we will paint seashells and have a sand castle building competitions.}

^{Tuesday: Sunglasses Day - all students should bring a pair of sunglasses.}

^{Wednesday: Hat Day - bring your best hat.}

^{Thursday:  Hawaiian Day. They should wear Hawaiian clothes. Also we will make lemonade.}

^{Friday: Father’s Day Celebration @4:00 pm we will have a sport competition with the fathers. Please come wearing your favorite team jersey or outfit.}

Friendly Reminder:

• On Splash day, please bring the following items: beach towel, bathing suit, hat, sun glasses, etc. We will simulate a day at the beach.
• Please remember to provide sunscreen for outdoor play. Apply it at home before school, and we will reapply at school in the afternoon.

Dear Ositos Parents, 

We hope everybody had a great week. This week we will continue learning about our theme: “The Universe and Me”. We will speak on how we are benefiting daily from the solar system. We will begin the week discussing what they already think or know about the universe through their previous knowledge.
