Little Gardeners

Week: July 3rd to July 7th, 2017

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,
 
We hope you are having a beautiful week. This week the children will learn everything about being little gardeners.
 
We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning through experiences. The week will start with our Independence Parade on Monday. Children will also enjoy discovering and exploring nature, flowers and gardening. On Wednesday, they will enjoy sharing moments with their classmates on Camping Day. On Thursday they will create craft and decorate flowers with clay and on Friday they will play flower shop.

Holidays & Upcoming Events
·         Splash Days on Mondays in the morning and Wednesdays in the afternoon.
·         Independence Day Parade on Monday, July 3rd.
·         Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4th. Spanish for fun! will be closed. 
·         Camping Day on Wednesday, July 5th.
Friendly Reminders
·         Remember your child to wash his/her hands when entering the classroom and before leaving the school. This is the best way to prevent illnesses.
·         Make sure to bring your child on time so he/she can participate in circle time. This activity starts at 8:45am and will stimulate and strengthen skills in all areas.
·         Read your child’s journal, blogs and Friday Newsletter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in case you have any comment or any question about your child’s development or any notes/comments made in your child’s journal.
·         Avoid bringing your child with items that can cause distraction such as toys, necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc. This is needed to help him/her concentrate in the scheduled activities at school.
·         Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
·         Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
·         Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
·         Make sure to have enough pull-ups or diapers in the cubby for the day, if your child has not been potty-trained yet.
·         If your child is bringing a lunch box, please label it with your child’s name and date and place it in the kitchen refrigerator.
·         Take home the homework blue folder in your child’s cubby and take one or 2 paper sheets from the container that are next to the entrance of the classroom. Homework should be returned by Tuesday and do not forget to bring the homework folder back on Monday.
·         Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.
·         Apply sunscreen to your child every morning.
·         Make sure to keep in your child’s cubby a pair of glasses and a summer hat.

Little Travelers

What we are learning?

Dear Parents,
 We hope you are having a beautiful week. This week the children will learn everything about being little travelers and interesting facts about United States of America.
 We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning through experiences. Children will keep enjoying summer with outdoor activities and Splash days. Children will make a hat, they will enjoy a picnic on Wednesday, on Thursday we will bake some cookies together and on Friday they will participate in our St. Jude activity. It will be a week full of learning and fun activities kids enjoy and cherish!

·         St. Jude Trike-A-Thon on Friday, June 30th. Please remember to bring your child bicycle and helmet and to sign the permission slip so they can ride in the parking lot.
·         Picnic Day on Wednesday, June 28th. Please help us bringing some snacks and fruits for our children to share and enjoy on the picnics day!
·         Baking Day on Thursday, June 29th.
·         Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4th. Spanish for fun! will be closed.

Little Chefs

 What we are learning?Dear Parents,
 We hope you are having a beautiful week. Summer has started and so have fun days with our Splash days. This week the children will learn everything about being little chefs and everything about the summer and its advantages.
 We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning through experiences while playing with water and being in the outdoor.  Children will enjoy Splash time. They will also learn how to prepare diverse dishes with easy recipes while playing little chefs such as lemonade, fruit salad, pizza, sandwiches and cookies. They will also participate in our Sunglasses and Fashion Parade Days.  They will be showing the latest trend for Summer 2017.

Year Learning Review

Blog Title: Year Learning Review
Week: June 12th through June 16th, 2017
Dear Parents,
What we are learning?
A year has gone by. We have to an end of the school year and for us, the teachers, it has been a year full of expectations, strengths and accomplishments and of course satisfaction to see that our students have achieved their goals. Most of our Ositos will start a new stage in their education path since they will be attending Kindergarten and we would like to wish them continued success.  We also would like to thank you your continued support through the whole year and for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life.

This coming week we will continue reviewing everything we have learnt through the school year, particularly the areas that require improvements. Children will continue working in their writing and reading skills.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning through experiences. 
We are also celebrating Father’s Day on Wednesday, June 14th at 10:30 am. Children will be preparing fun surprises for Dad and through these activities we will continue encouraging appreciation, respect and love to their dads.  We are looking forward to having you joined us.

We hope you are having a beautiful week. This month our theme is “annual review”. This coming week we will review everything we have learnt through the school year, particularly the areas that require improvements.
 
We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning through experiences. Children will continue improving his reading and writing skills and they will recognize words with the sounds of Tr. They will also review the ABC’s and the geometric shapes.
