Blog Title: Summer Camp
Weekly Feature Theme: Little Magicians and Clowns
Week: August 7th, 2017 to August 11th, 2017
What
we are learning?Dear
Parents,
We hope you are having a
beautiful week. This is our last week of summer camp and we want to make sure
children have fun while learning. This week
children will enjoy being little magicians and clowns and we will
discover and explore about the life in the circus. Children will also participate in wonderful party where
children will share memories with classmates while having an amazing time.
We have scheduled learning
activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor
skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning
through experiences. Below we are listing extra activities that we will be
participating during our last week such as:
·
Creating our own puppets for our puppet show.
·
Wearing our wigs for crazy hair day.
·
Pretending to be magicians and making magic.
·
Painting our noses like clowns.
·
Creating a craft of a circus tent with the help
of our classmates.
Thank
you for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life and we hope
you have a great weekend.

Friendly Reminders
·
Remember your child to wash his/her hands when
entering the classroom and before leaving the school. This is the best way to
prevent illnesses.
·
Make sure to bring your child on time so he/she
can participate in circle time. This activity starts at 8:45am and will
stimulate and strengthen skills in all areas.
·
Read your child’s journal, blogs and Friday
Newsletter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in case you have any
comment or any question about your child’s development or any notes/comments
made in your child’s journal.
·
Avoid bringing your child with items that can
cause distraction such as toys, necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc. This is
needed to help him/her concentrate in the scheduled activities at school.
·
Label all your child’s clothing and items and
make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to
weather in his/her cubby.
·
Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and
just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
·
Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays
for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
·
Make sure to have enough pull-ups or diapers in
the cubby for the day, if your child has not been potty-trained yet.
·
If your child is bringing a lunch box, please
label it with your child’s name and date and place it in the kitchen. If the
lunch box requires to be refrigerated, please put it inside the refrigerator.
·
Take home the homework blue folder in your
child’s cubby and take one or 2 paper sheets from the container that are next
to the entrance of the classroom. Homework should be returned by Tuesday and do
not forget to bring the homework folder back on Monday.
·
Do not bring your child to school if the child
has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.
·
Apply sunscreen to your child every morning.
·
Make sure to keep in your child’s cubby a pair
of glasses and a summer hat.
·
Have your child wear swimsuit, splashers or swim
diapers and water shoes for Splash Day. Make sure to send a towel and a tote
bag for wet items. Label and pack all these items in the tote bag.
·
Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important
to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito
bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires
planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child,
make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when
sunscreen and mosquito repellant should be applied and be sure to supply the
sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and
place them in a tote bag.
